UMR 152 PHARMADEV
Pharmacochemistry and Biology for Development
The research unit PHARMADEV includes researchers from the French Research Institute for Development (IRD) and the Paul Sabatier-Toulouse 3 University (UT3).
Our mission is to contribute to improving the health of people living developing countries. To this end, our research focus on finding new therapeutic approaches for the prevention and treatment of the most prevalent diseases in tropical areas, in particular parasitosis (leishmaniasis, malaria) and cancer (hepatocarcinoma, lymphoma). PHARMADEV has also a mission of training students, in particular students from South countries, the development of sustainable partnerships with South research teams.
PHARMADEV's main site is located in Toulouse, at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, part of UT3. The research unit has also three secondary sites in the South: in Lima, Peru, hosted by the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), in Cotonou in Benin with one researcher working there, and in New Caledonia.
